Oxford School of Corsetry Testemonials

"Julia’s classes are great fun. They are in a fabulous bit of the countryside just outside Oxford and the Cotswolds, so you could make a country break of it at the same time."

Alice, UK

"Julia is amazing! Just finished the beginners corsetry course, I learnt so much and absolutely love the end result! The corserty bug has definitely bitten :)"

Sas, UK

"I just wanted to write you a quick note to thank you for such an enjoyable sewing weekend. I feel that I learnt a great deal and it was lovely meeting six (yourself included) such interesting and talented women. My mind boggles at all the clever and creative things that people get up to, and I feel inspired to get on and do more myself! My next job is to go to your website and order myself some corsetry supplies, and get started with my next corset. I Can't wait! All best wishes, and see you next year sometime for another wonderfully self indulgent weekend's course."

Phylida, UK

I really enjoyed the beginners class in February. I learned a lot, and got a lot of compliments on the final corset I made :) Definitely found a new art I want to learn more about.  I want to plan traveling for another course, and am debating on which one to sign up for. Could you please tell me which courses are covered by the summer school course?

Chen, Isreael

"I am so happy right now! I went on with the next mock up for a corset that I first started before I came to you. I changed the pattern according to our studies and it is such a lovely fit with a quite dramatic shape. I may have danced a little happy dance when I left the client"

Anna, Germany

"Here are some pictures of the corset i made at home with the pattern you gave us at the beginners course.  And I'm working on the next project...One class was all it took to get me addicted to corsetmaking"

 Nathalie, Switzerland

"This is a short email to say thank you for letting me know when the place came up; I learned so much over the three days that will actually help with my general sewing as well as when I make the next corset.  Well, I will start to plan my finances, so that I can keep an eye out for the release of course dates for next year, ready to enrol on the intermediate."

Carlah, UK

"I am so inspired!!!! I can't wait to see the next course dates and look forward to seeing you again.... If you'll have me! I can't promise I'll be less excited"

Emma, UK

"Amazing day yesterday really enjoyed the course . Although I've sewn for years I learnt so much. Many thanks and hope to see you again xx"

Chris, UK

"Just wanted to say a big thank you for the class on Saturday, it was great fun. Already have about 10 new ideas to try out. I've attached a quick pic of the corset I made from your patterning class, it doesn't photograph very well but looks awesome in real life!"

Just some of the International Students who have studied at
Oxford School of Corsetry

Jenni from Taiwan has been three times to do Beginners, cupped and a summer school.

Eliane from the Netherlands came to do Beginners and a Summer School.

I recently had the pleasure of taking a class, eventhough I live 7000km away. I think it was worth it. I learned more in a few days then I ever could in a book over a year.

Corrie, Dubai

Winnie and Sumaiya came from Indonesia and Ghana for the Advanced class with Laura from Germany who is out of shot.

"I just wanted to say thank you again for such a great course - I didn't realise how much I would get done and learn in 3 days! I'm really excited about trying out different variations on what we did in class ( and other types of corsets????).Thanks again and Hopefully see you again for another class soon!"

Dami, UK

"Thanks to your inspiration I am corseting everything!"

Charlotte, UK

"I just wanted to say thank you to both you and Alison for a fabulous course - I learnt so much, and also had fun doing so. I really look forward to putting what I've learned in to practise - I've got so many ideas of corsets I want to make, but unfortunately work gets in the way. Thank you again, and I will definitely look at booking another course with you"

Liz, UK

"Julia is an amazing woman, I love her patterns, her fabrics. She has taught me so much over the weekend. I am looking forward to the next time. X"

I wrote a book to help you

If you can't make it to any classes, you could try my e-book "Corset Making, for beginners to intermediate". Published 6 years ago it's now a staple on most corsetieres shelves. Here's a testemonial from Lisa Armstrong from a few years ago, a very talented designer who's work I love.

"Thank you for the speedy delivery of my corset making DVD which arrived yesterday beautifully wrapped! I thought I'd take a quick peek last night but ended up reading half of it in one sitting! I just wanted to message you and say that it is by far and away the best corset making tutorial i have ever read/seen. Your roll pinning demo is especially fantastic, and the whole book is written in such a clear consice way that it is easy to understand and makes total sense, i found all my questions answered, instead of having loads of unanswered questions, which is what usually happens when i read an instructional book! It is so nice to read something by a professional, who knows what they are talking about, but who can also explain what they mean! I cant wait to get home tonight and read the second half....and start on the projects!!"
